Quick Start
From zero to your first API response in under five minutes.
1. Create your account
Head to the sign-up page and create a free DEXTools API account. No payment method is required.
2. Get your API key
After registering, open your dashboard and generate an API key. Treat it like a password — store it in environment variables, never in source code or client-side bundles.
3. Make your first request
Pass your key in the X-API-Key header. Start with the hello endpoint to confirm your key works.
curl "https://public-api.dextools.io/v3/hello" \
-H "X-API-Key: your-api-key-here" \
-H "Accept: application/json"Once that returns, list the supported blockchains.
curl "https://public-api.dextools.io/v3/blockchains" \
-H "X-API-Key: your-api-key-here" \
-H "Accept: application/json"A successful response looks like this:
{
"statusCode": 200,
"data": [
{ "id": "ether", "name": "Ethereum" },
{ "id": "bsc", "name": "BNB Chain" },
{ "id": "solana", "name": "Solana" }
]
}4. Understand credits and rate limits
Each call consumes credits from your monthly quota, and every plan has a per-minute request cap. Monitor your usage from the dashboard and check your remaining budget any time with GET /v3/accounts/subscription.
| Plan | Credits / month | Requests / minute |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 10,000 | 60 |
| Standard | 1,000,000 | 120 |
| Pro | 5,000,000 | 900 |
Compare the tiers on the pricing page.
5. Explore the endpoints
Browse the full reference in the sidebar to discover every endpoint and its parameters. Popular starting points are token metadata (/v3/tokens/{chain}/{address}), pool data (/v3/pools/{chain}/{address}), and hot pairs (/v3/features/{chain}/hotpairs).
